In Loving Memory of William "Bill" Kenneth Person
Bill left this world on April 27,2024, at the age of 83, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered with equal parts laughter and fondness. Bill was a true character, always learning, cooking, or building something new. His famous peanut brittle will be missed. He loved a good story. And he truly lived by the motto “I did it my way.”
He was the son of William and Margret Person. Bill is survived by his siblings Lois Hasson, Don Person, Louis Person, Ruth Person, and Doris Person. Bill is also preceded in death by sisters, Janet Bennett and Peggy Milheim.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Person (Drumm).
He is survived by his daughters Valerie Baker (William Baker) and Molly Person. His daughter Emily Person Ulrich preceded him in death in 2022.
Grandchildren: Morgan Rae Griffis preceded him in 2005, Janina “Nina” Griffis, Gabriel Ulrich (Corrine), Nia Turner, Hannah-Quinn Ulrich, Joel Ulrich, Reece Person, Kristina (Danny) Pydynowski, Kim (Ben) Heverly. Great-Grandchildren: Emilia, Lyra, Nora, Andi, and Beau.
Bill graduated from Williamsport High School in 1959. A Mason, Lodge 755, since 1964, he wholeheartedly embraced the values and principles of the organization to make a positive impact on the lives of others. He was part of the Williamsport Consistory AASR in 1967. In the 1960’s he was an alderman in Williamsport. He was a member of the Trout Run United Methodist Church and later Montgomery Presbyterian Church. Bill was a blood donor for many years.
While working 31 years at Textron (previously AVCO, Lycoming Motors), he also operated “Person Machinery Shop” and “The Find It Shop” in his spare time.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
May his quick-witted jokes continue to bring smiles to the heavens above.
