Robert LaRue Ward (Bob) 86, of DeLand, FL, peacefully passed on December 8, 2025, into his eternal home to be with the Lord after a battle with cancer.
Bob was born in Berrytown, PA, on February 13, 1939, to Kenneth and Bessie (Kier) Ward. He was raised on a dairy farm and after graduating from Troy High School in 1957, Bob married the love of his life, Nancy Dunbar, his wife of 64 years. Together they purchased his family’s dairy farm and worked on it until they moved to Yuma, AZ, in 1984 where he worked as a manager of a mobile home park and ultimately relocating and retiring in Deland, FL.
A servant of God, Bob’s faith and family values were the foundation he proudly built his life on—an example for all to follow. He had a sense of humor and cherished his time with family and friends. An avid motorcyclist, he looked forward to meeting his motorcycle buddies every week for coffee.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Glenn Ward, of Springfield, PA. Bob is survived by his wife Nancy Ward(Deland, FL), children: Brian (Norma Jean) Ward of Homosassa, FL, Susan (Daniel) Stroud of Roaring Branch, PA, grandchildren: Jessica (Steven) Seymour of Columbia Crossroads, PA, Robert Cook of Perkasie, PA, great-grandchildren: Zachery, Zoey, and Aurora Seymour, Layla Cook, and sister, Patricia A. Merrill of Ulster, PA.
As per Bob’s wishes, there will be no services.
