Phyllis D. Swanson, 94, of Blossburg, passed away Sunday February 9, 2014 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
Born in Blossburg June 28, 1919, she was the daughter of Albert and Edith Johnson Plummer.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Swanson.
Phyllis was one of the oldest members of the First United Methodist Church of Blossburg where she was also a member of the Friendship Circle.
Phyllis’s enjoyments in life were gardening, cooking and baking. She and her husband, John, often enjoyed the company of friends and family for dinner. It has been said, “If there were more neighbors as John and Phyllis the world would be a better place”.
Surviving Phyllis is a sister Betty Cropp and husband William, Nichols, NY, cousin Phyllis Anderson, Blossburg, niece Brenda Gage and husband Terry, Owego, NY and nephew John Cropp and wife Karen, Apalachin, NY.
Friends will be received at the Freeberg Funeral Home, Blossburg, Saturday February, 15, 2014 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.; services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michele Somerville officiating. A luncheon will be held at noon from the First United Methodist Church, Blossburg.
