Welcome to the memorial page for

Margaret "Peg" Moser

April 4, 2014

Margaret “Peg” Moser, 89, passed away peacefully April 4th at the home of her daughter, Pamela Gardner, in Harrisburg, PA. Peg was the widow of Clarence “JR” Moser who passed away in April 1987. Both were longtime residents of Blossburg.

Peg moved from Blossburg to Harrisburg in 2007 where she was a resident of the Ecumenical Retirement Community. She only recently began to receive hospice care in Pam’s home.

Peg was a 1942 graduate of Blossburg High School and a 1945 graduate of the Episcopal School of Nursing in Philadelphia where she was a member of the Nurse Cadet Core. She and JR were married in 1947 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Blossburg. Peg worked as an operating room nurse at Blossburg State Hospital for many years before transferring to Mansfield State University as a nurse in the college infirmary. She retired in 1986.

Peg was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a treasured aunt and loving friend. Her beautiful smile and pleasant way brightened the lives of everyone around her. Peg was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Mansfield and belonged to the Alpha Circle at the Methodist Church in Blossburg. She was a Blossburg Red Hat Lady, and for many years brought smiles to Blossburg residents with her porch side ceramic duck, dressed in outfits she made for every season and holiday.

Surviving are her two daughters, Pamela Gardner and husband Larry of Harrisburg, PA and Kimberley Brown and husband Michael of Crown Point, IN. She is pre-deceased by her daughter Michelene “Mickey” who passed away in 1951 and her grandson Michael Jr. who passed away in 2002. Also surviving are grandchildren Hugh Gardner, Lee Anne Richardson and husband Bob, Ryan Brown and fiancée Alisha, Kendall Brown, great grandson Calvin Richardson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate Peg’s life will be held Saturday, April 12th at St. James Episcopal Church, 18 St. James Street in Mansfield, PA.  Public visitation will begin at Noon followed by the church service at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Peg’s memory can be made to her grandson’s memorial scholarship program. For details visit http://www.mikebrownjr.org/donations
