Louis Eugene Maxwell,59, of Blossburg, lost his battle with Covid 19 pneumonia November 6,2021 while a patient at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
He was born December 22, 1961, in Wellsville NY, one of six children of the late Roland and Mildred Matteson Maxwell.
Louis owned and operated a janitorial service.
When Louis was not using his metal detector or collecting old bottles, he could be found at his favorite hangout, The Bear A in Blossburg, on his stool drinking iced tea. The owners along with the staff and patrons of the Bear A, so loved and respected Louis his stool was temporarily retired. Upon retiring Louis’s stool, several memorial items have been placed by his many friends, on and around his favorite spot.
Louis is survived by his daughter, Sarah Maxwell of South Korea, sisters; Juanita (John) Berguson, Blossburg, Jean Maxwell, Lancaster, Julie (Robert) Tomsatt, Franklin, Tenn. A brother Roland Maxwell, Mansfield, and several nieces and nephews, Preceding Louis in death were his parents, and a brother Steven Maxwell.
Family and friends will be received at the Freeberg Funeral Home, Blossburg, Friday November 19, from 6:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. a memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Mark Scafidi pastor of The Church of the New Covenant officiating.
