Llewellyn Holcomb

Llewellyn Holcomb, 88, of Liberty, passed away peacefully June 23, 2014.

Born November 10, 1925 in Liberty, he was the son of Halleck and Anna Weaver Holcomb.

He was married to the former Virginia Faye Purvis; she preceded him in death October 4, 2013.

He was a dairy farmer and trucker; he was a member of Arnot Sportsman Club, Hillside Rod and Gun, Sugar Hill Hunting Club, Mountain Run Hunting Club, and a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

Survivors include his son Larry (Betty) Holcomb, Liberty, daughter Trudy (Robert) Puryear, Milton, Delaware, brother Kenny (Celita) Holcomb, Amarillo, Texas, four grandsons; Chris, Jonathan, Matthew, and Josh, nine  great-grandchildren; Nevaeh, Jayden, William, Haley, Anna, Issaiah, Megan, Benjamin, and Owen. He was preceded in death by three sisters; Myrtle Parker, Ruth Taylor, and Gladys Messner.

 Family and friends will be received Monday June 30, 2014 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Friedens Lutheran Church, Liberty.  Interment will follow in Friedens Lutheran Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers. Memorial donations may be directed to the Liberty Little League c/o First Citizens Community Bank, P.O. Box 37, Blossburg, PA 16912.
