June Marie Schmouder

June Marie Schmouder, 83, of Liberty, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016.

Born May 20, 1933, in Muncy Valley, she was one of seven children of Lem and Myrtle Rine Ryder.

June married Delbert Schmouder Sr. on February 2, 1951; they celebrated 61 years of marriage until Delbert’s passing on March 28, 2012.

June was employed by Wundies in Liberty until the closing of the factory.

June was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, and the Ladies Aide, also she was a lifetime member of the Liberty VFW.

She enjoyed; her flower gardens, canning, quilting, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving June are her children; Delbert (Wilma) Schmouder Jr., of Morris, Dennis Schmouder of Sebring, Donna Ostrom of Morris, Teresa (Danny) Swearinger of Ohio, Julie Confair, of  Wellsboro , and AnnMarie Schmouder of Liberty; surviving siblings are; Gary (Nancy) Ryder, Delbert (Dorthea) Ryder, Doug (Martha) Ryder, Gloria (Ronald) Hunter, and Pearl Farrer, and by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death her parents, husband Delbert Sr., brother Larry Ryder, and a grandson Staff Sergeant Ryan Ostrom.

Family and friends will be received at Freeberg Funeral Home, Blossburg, Thursday June 23; from 5p.m. until 7p.m. Funeral services will follow the viewing at 7 p.m. with Rev. Richard Adams officiating.

The family will provide the flowers; memorial donations may be directed to Staff Sergeant Ryan Ostrom Courtyard Memorial Fund c/o C&N bBank, Liberty, PA 16930.
