Janet Berguson

Janet   Berguson, 94, of Blossburg and Broad Acres, Wellsboro, passed away on November 25, 2013 after a brief illness.

Born March 2, 1919 a daughter of the late ”Archie” Maciez (Matthew) Josef and Ana Maria (Anna Mary) Piecuch Stempeck of Arnot.

On February 7, 1942 she married Gordon Arthur Berguson who predeceased her on October 10, 2003; a son Richard Berguson, April 1954 and a daughter-in-law Lenna Berguson October 25, 2013.

She is survived by 3 sons; William Berguson, AZ., Edward (Pamela) Berguson, Blossburg, Gordon Jr. (Joan) Berguson, Arnot, and a sister Loretta (Raymond) Brundage, Covington; also by 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Janet was also predeceased by 5 siblings.

Janet worked at the Blossburg State Hospital till its closing, and Wundies in Liberty.

She was a past member of the V.F. W. Women’s  Auxiliary Blossburg Chapter; member of the past Society of St. Mary’s Christian Mother of St. Stanislaus/ St. Mary of Czestochowa Churches.

Family and friends may call Friday November 29, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at Freeberg Funeral Home, Blossburg.  Transferal Prayers will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday November 30th from the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Mary Czestochowa Church Blossburg, with Rev. Jacek J. Bialkowski as Celebrant.

Interment will be at St. Marys Cemetery, Blossburg.

Donations may be made to the Good Samaritans % Holy Child Parish, Mansfield.
