Floyd J. Harzinski

Floyd J. Harzinski, 91, of Arnot, passed away Saturday May 14, 2016 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro. Born February 4, 1925 in Blossburg, he was the son of Andrew and Mary Luke Harzinski.

Floyd married the former Isabelle Frederick in 1946; they celebrated 63 years of marriage until her passing in 2009.

Floyd worked as a miner in Arnot until he entered the U.S. Army during WWll; after his discharge he worked construction, he then founded Arnot Building Supply in 1954 where he worked until his retirement in 1985.

He was a member of the Holy Child Church, Mansfield, the American Legion, V.F.W and was one of the original members of the Arnot Citizens Committee

Surviving are his children; Paul Harzinski of the Carleton Home, Wellsboro, Patricia (Harold) Andrews, Robert (Sharon) Harzinski, and Kathleen (Wayne) Parmely, all of Arnot; grandchildren; Michael (Alyshia) Andrews, Jennifer (Sean) Monahan, Andrew (Lynette) Parmely, and Christine (Ryan) Dalton, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews including a special niece Coleen Nichols, brother, Raymond (Shelvajean) Harzinski, Blossburg, sisters; Veronica Griffits, The Green Home, Wellsboro, Eleanor Dahlgren and Ernestine Dieffenbach, both of Mansfield. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by brothers; Edwin and Joseph.

Friends will be received at Freeberg Funeral Home, Blossburg, Tuesday May 17^th from 6:45, time of the Rosary, until 9 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday May 18^th at 10 a.m. from St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Blossburg, with Rev Brian Wright as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery.
