Eugene “Gene” O’Conner, age 88, of Covington, passed away Tuesday, July 23th.
Born January 31, 1931, he was the son of Norman and Margaret Spencer O’Conner.
Gene was married to the former Kathryn Goodenow; they shared 56 years together until her passing on August 22, 2012.
Gene was a logger and truck driver. The O’Conner brothers; Gene and Tim, were both loggers. Gene was proud to say he hauled the first load of wood to P&G in Mehoopany, PA in 1967.
Gene enjoyed going to all the local coffee shops.
Surviving Gene are his daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and John Edling of New Albany, Anne and David Berkley of Towanda; and his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Wendy O’Conner of Mansfield; grandchildren, Timmy Titus, Jennifer Miller, Fawn (John) Madden, April Hoodak, Matthew Edling, Nicole Hemerley, Taylor O’Conner, Hannah (Zack) Croft, and Natalie O’Conner; great-grandchildren, Kathrine, Jenna, Brady Madden, David Toomy, Nicolas and Christan Miller, Emily Edling, Nora and Harper O’Conner and Beth Croft; great-great grandson Carson Miller; sister Dorothy (Laurie) Wood and brother Robert “Tim” (Patsy) O’Conner, also by several nieces and nephews. Proceeding Gene in death in addition to his parents and wife, Kathryn, were a sister Mary Brozoski and brothers, Donald O’Conner and Harold “Bud” O’Conner.
Funeral services will be held privately.
