Erma Irene Stanley

Erma Irene Stanley of Blossburg, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 in Frederick, MD surrounded by family.  She was the wife of the late Charles (Joe) Stanley

. Born on August 12, 1934, in Blossburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Merle LeRoy and Genevieve Irene Stocum.

Erma is survived by her daughter, Deborah Pecynski of Frederick, MD, daughter-in-law Karen Stanley, daughter-in-law Mary Stanley Roupp, a sister, Bernita Tipple of Blossburg, PA, a brother Leo (Uli) Stocum of Arnot, PA and many loved nieces and nephews.

Erma is also survived by her nine beloved grandchildren:  Dawn (Wesley) Worrell, Jason (Wendy) Pecynski, Randy (Amanda) Stanley, Chris Stanley, Amanda (Joe) Stanley, Joey Stanley, Ricky (Heather) Stanley, Matthew (Serena) Stanley, and Christie (Adam) Sherant.  She is also survived by 35 great grandchildren and 5 great- great grandchildren.

In addition to Erma’s husband and parents, she was proceeded in death by her three sons Randall, Richard, and Edward Stanley, two great grandchildren, Jason Pecynski Jr. and, Brayden Stanley, two sisters, Diana Page, Donna Rice and two brothers LeRoy and Donald Stocum.

Erma was a lifelong member of the former Saint Andrews Catholic Church, now Saint Mary’s Catholic Church.  She was loved by all who knew her and will always be remembered as an amazing mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, neighbor, and friend.  She was always courageous and kind and was absolutely devoted to her family.

   The family will receive friends from 12 – 2pm on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Freeberg Funeral Home, 120 N. Williamson Road, Blossburg, PA  16912.  The memorial service by Father Bryon Wright will be at 12:30pm.
