David L. Gares

David L. Gares, 94, of Covington, passed away Friday, September 26th, at Broad Acres, Wellsboro.

Born January 13, 1920 in Bucks County, PA.; he was the son of Harry Norman and Anne Henry Lawrence Gares.

In 1979 Dave married the former Mildred Shipps who survives.

Dave retired from Riegel Paper, Milford, NJ. In 1983.

Dave loved the farm he lived on in Covington, the gardening and the flowers, also his favorite cat, Jake; but most of all he loved his family.

Surviving Dave in addition to his wife, Mildred, are sons; David L. Gares Jr. Saylorsburg, and Roger Gares, Ringoes, NJ., daughters Elaine M. Marsh, Marcola, OR., Jeanne C. Steinmetz, Covington, and step-daughter Debbie Newman, Huston, TX., 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren, a brother Tom Gares, Delaware,  and several; nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by siblings Ken, Jean and, Kathern.

A memorial service will be held for family and friends, Tuesday, September 30th at 1 p.m. from Freeberg Funeral Home, Blossburg, with William Baker officiating.
