Danny Husted Watkins, 75, of Covington, passed away at his home, Monday May 4, 2015.
He was born in Blossburg February 23, 1940; his parents are the late Frederick and Mary Husted Watkins.
He graduated from North Penn High School in 1958.
On September 27, 1958 Danny married the former Sylvia VanDyke.
He retired from the railroad as an engineer.
Danny was a lifelong avid horseman and belonged to numerous horse clubs. As a basketball player, he was inducted into the Tioga County Sports Hall of Fame. He was a dedicated fan of children and grandchildren athletics.
Survivors include his wife Sylvia Watkins of Covington, sons; Danny and Todd Watkins and daughter, Tracy Watkins all of Covington, grandchildren; Caitlin Watkins, Kristin Watkins, Nicole Watkins, Tyler Watkins, Kori (Michael) Casselberry, Kendall Watkins, Connor Watkins, Austin Simpson, and Zane Watkins, great-grandchildren ; Brooks Casselberry and Brantlee Simpson, brother Tommy (Mary) Watkins, and his mother-in-law Cora Van Dyke.
Friends will be received at Freeberg Funeral Home, Blossburg, Friday May 8, 2015 from 6-7p.m. Services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Michele Somerville officiating.
