Bobby Cochran, 87, of Liberty, passed away at his residence, November 9, 2016.
Born in Liberty on September 16, 1929, he was the son of Fred and Elmina Brion Cochran. He married Barbara Jean Fritz, she preceded him in death.
During his service with the U.S. Air Force he flew the Berlin Air Lift and severed during the Korean Conflict.
He was employed by Ward Foundry for 40 years as a machine operator.
Bobby was a wonderful athlete, in 1947, his senior year at Liberty High School; he was captain of his baseball, basketball and soccer teams. During his service with the Air Force he was the star pitcher of the baseball team the Kitty Hawks. He enjoyed deer hunting for more than 30 years; his best trophy was a 16 pt. buck.
Bobby was a man of few words and loved by all.
Surviving are children; Rod (Cindy) Cochran of Westfield and Tanya (Michael) Ernest of Mentone, Alabama; also by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son Gary Cochran and a special friend Jean Cooper.
