Betty B. Kuzneski, 89, a lifelong Blossburg resident, died peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2014, at the Green Home, surrounded by her family. Born in Blossburg September 5, 1924, she was the daughter of Earl and Elizabeth Jenkins Bogart.
Betty’s husband Walter Kuzneski preceded her in death in August 1995.
She was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during W.W.ll, and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Blossburg.
Betty attended lab school in Philadelphia, after which she joined the WAVES. She served as a pharmacist mate and attained further lab schooling at Bethesda, MD. She was assigned to Brooklyn Naval Hospital.
Betty retired from Blossburg Hospital as a lab and x-ray technician.
Betty is survived by a daughter Jean Smith and husband Larry, Blossburg, a son Robert Kuzneski and wife Faye Davies, Blossburg; grandchildren Christopher Smith and wife Amy, Blossburg, Amy Augustine and husband Tom, Blossburg, Beth Ann Weiskopff and husband Brad, Blossburg, and Jason Kuzneski and friend Linda Blasz, Blossburg; six great-grandchildren also sisters, Florence Bogart Gray, Elmira, and Margaret “Peg” Carlson, The Green Home, Wellsboro, and special nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Freeberg Funeral Home, Blossburg, Tuesday January 21, 2014 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Funeral Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Michele Somerville, officiating.
Interment will be at Arbon Cemetery, Blossburg.
