Anton “Tony” Pennings
Tony Pennings passed on to the Spirit World Sunday morning January 8, 2023 after a December 1, 2022 cancer diagnosis.
In September 1948 Tony traveled across the Atlantic Ocean as a fetus from Holland to Ellis Island, NYC. His parents Pieter & Marie Pennings settled in White Plains, NY where Tony was born on December 21, 1948.
Tony had a strong affinity for certain things throughout his whole life on Earth: hot rods, drag racing, tractors, landscaping, ice skating, snowmobiling, firewood. He had a passion for baseball, playing as a kid until he was 16. He coached Little League Baseball 1988 thru 1996 in Williamsport, PA with his two sons and daughter on the teams. His grandson Dylan was an avid baseball player too; Tony attended almost every one of his games. Tony was dedicated to his business at Buttonwood Garage, where he repaired Heavy Duty Semi Trucks 1979 thru 2022. Tony was known as the best diesel engine mechanic around. He restored dozens of classic Peterbilt 359s, and had one of his own. He loved taking it to truck shows with his grandson Benny. Tony was an honorable man with boundless energy. He spent his days taking care of everyone and everything around him. He will be deeply missed by those who were lucky enough to call him their Dad, Pop or Husband.
Tony graduated from Central Bucks High School in 1966. Then he served for 6 years in the Army National Guard.
Tony and his wife of 50 years Deborah Lynne Jones lovingly raised three children at their homestead in Cogan House Twp, Lycoming County, PA.
His life centered around his wife, children, and grandchildren. He is survived by the following: wife; Deborah. 3 children; Jeremy, Jonathan, Jessica. 5 grandchildren; Dylan, Benjamin, Madeline, Chloe, Paislee. 2 cousins; Enno de Kroon, Robin de Kroon. 3 nieces; Candice, Kristin, Erin.
