Anna MItstifer

Anna Mitstifer, 91, of Liberty, died at home surrounded by her family, Friday evening.

She was born May 28, 1923, the daughter of Leon and Alta Brown. Her husband, William C. Mitsitifer, died April 21, 1978.

Anna graduated from Liberty High School in 1941. She was a lifetime member of Salem Lutheran Church and Salem Ladies Aid.

Surviving are her nine children; Tom (Ginny) Mitstifer of Chelsea, MA., Faye (Jim) Kreger, Jean Thomas, Betty (Larry) Holcomb, Lynn (Carol) Mitstifer, Boyd (Penny) Mitstifer, Clyde (Deanna) Mitstifer, all of Liberty; Judy Mitstifer of Albania and Gail (Russell) Kibler of Bensalem, PA. There are 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Harold Brown and sister Dortha Finogle. Preceding Anna in death was a sister Ruby Gastrock and infant brother Chester Brown.

Anna loved making quilts for family members, playing scrabble, and doing word searches.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church on Friday, May 8, 2015. The funeral, officiated by Pastor Richard Adams will follow at 11 a.m... Interment will follow at Salem St. Paul Cemetery.
