Walter J. Belawski Sr., 91, of Blossburg.
Walter Left us on Monday, January 22, 2018.
Born April 21, 1926 in Canton, he was the son of Raymond and Matilda Mitchell Belawski.
He and his wife Mary have celebrated 44 years of marriage.
Walter served in the U.S. Army during WWll.
After his employment at Ward Manufacturing, he became self employed by starting Belawski Nursery.
His greatest joy was making things grow; working on landscaping and making sure it was done right. There will be many who will miss his “green thumb”, and his well-lit Christmas tree which was enjoyed by countless people. His favorite place was a camp he built in Gleason, PA., and he often enjoyed a Sunday afternoon ride. Walter also had faith in the Lord.
Surviving in addition to his wife Mary, are sons; Walter Belawski Jr. Blossburg, James (Leslie) Belawski, Covington, step-daughter Debbie Colavita, FL.; sister, Mary Davis, Lewisburg; sister-in-law Wilma Belawske, Canton; step-grandchildren; Brandon Stedge and Allie Mase ; step-great-grandchildren Gabriel, Ry Ry, and Toryn, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by brothers, John and Edward and sisters, Genevieve and Elanor.
Friends and family may call at the Freeberg Funeral Home, Blossburg, Friday, January 26th from 6-8p.m.
A Blessing service will be held from the funeral home, Saturday, January 27th at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bryan Wright. Interment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Morris Run,PA.
