Tommy E. Watkins

July 8, 1941 ~ April 27, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Tommy E. Watkins, 75, passed away Thursday April 27th at his residence in Blossburg.

Born in Blossburg July 8, 1941, he was the son of the late Frederick and Mary Husted Watkins.

Tommy married the former Margaret “Peggy” Birriola on November 11, 1961.

Tommy worked for the railroad for 35 years retiring in 1995 as an engineer.

He was a lifetime member of Hillside Rod and Gun Club, Blossburg.

Tommy enjoyed spending time with all his family his main hobby being his classic cars, he built a garage on Cherry Flats Road known as “the old mans’ garage” where he enjoyed hanging out with his many friends. He also enjoyed early morning (6:30 a.m.) coffee at the American Truck Stop

Surviving in addition to his wife Peggy, are his sons; Barry Watkins, Blossburg and Kelly Watkins, Covington, grandchildren; Elizabeth (Jeremy) Vlajic, Patrick Watkins, and Allison Watkins, great-grandchildren, Chandler, Landon, and Leland. He was preceded in death by a son T.R. Watkins and a brother Danny Watkins.

Family and friends will be received, Monday May 1st at Freeberg Funeral Home, Blossburg, from 4 until time of services at 6 p.m.
